LARRY BIENATI, MBA, PhD
Associate Professor
Dr. Larry Bienati has over 35 years’ senior level leadership experience in various organizational settings including healthcare, medical device, engineering, retail, pharmacy and professional services. As the CEO of Consultants to Management, Inc., Dr. Bienati has provided strategic consulting services for many well-known organizations in the public, private and not for profit sectors. He served as Chairman of the Board for BSK Engineering and Laboratories, Inc. (USA), along with other Board roles in the private and not for profit sectors. Since 1990, Dr. Bienati has taught in many Bay Area Universities, including Saint Mary’s College of California where he served as lead faculty for the accelerated Bachelors and Masters Programs in Management and Health Services Management, U.C. Berkeley’s Worldwide Business Programs, the California Maritime Academy and Sacramento State University serving in faculty roles for the EMBA/MBA programs and many executive leadership programs for the State of California and other organizations. Dr. Bienati is a respected professional speaker, mediator, author, and practitioner in the areas of human resource strategy, complex employee/labor relations, strategic planning, organizational behavior, organizational development, transformational change, leadership development, executive coaching and succession planning systems. Dr. Bienati received his Ph.D. in Business Administration from Golden Gate University and his M.B.A. and B.S. Degrees in Management Sciences and HR/Industrial Relations from California State University. Dr. Bienati’s dissertation focused on the rehabilitation of the problem employee and organizational turnaround strategies. His models and approaches are making positive impacts in the fields of human resources, organizational development and quality of life programs. He is a lifetime recipient of the Senior Professional in Human Resources distinction. Dr. Bienati donates 10% of his practice each year to assisting non-profit organizations, veterans, at risk students and other noble social causes in advancing their missions and needs. He is known for building collaborative, inclusive leadership styles, mentoring successful executive leaders and advancing the shared alignment of human capital as an organization’s most important asset.

Rajiv Donde, MBA

Professor Rajiv Donde is presently Chief Data Science Officer at UC Davis Health Center for Precision Medicine and Data Sciences. He is President of Laru Technologies, a software company that provides risk management solutions to financial institutions nationwide. He is also an Executive MBA educator of Technology Management and Entrepreneurship since 2007. In addition, Rajiv’s 30 plus years work experience includes C-Level roles in leading technology based, multi-million dollar revenue and growth initiatives in healthcare and supply chain industries.
He co-founded AnyTime Access, an e-Commerce Banking Company and managed its IT organization from inception, enabling it to serve over 150 financial institutions nationwide and contributing to its successful acquisition for $140MM. He has also restructured an IT organization to develop and deliver five core healthcare software products to meet the needs of 7,000 physicians nationwide, enabling the company to be profitable for the first time in its history. Further, he has worked internationally with US based clients and software teams in India to ensure accurate design, development and delivery of Software products.
Early in his career he developed an early warning system (EWS) for the Department of Commerce in Ohio to track the financial performance of state chartered financial institutions and identify Balance sheet weakness to prioritize onsite audits. Rajiv has been highlighted as a keynote speaker on Banking and Technology related topics at conferences throughout his career.

Maya Heinert, MD, MBA, FAAP is a double board-certified physician with over 25 years of clinical and leadership experience in Healthcare. Dr. Heinert’s range of clinical experience spans national healthcare enterprise, managed care, primary care, and private industry. She brings expertise in organizational health, leadership, human health and wellness, and employee engagement. Her personal focus centers on increasing strength and wellness within organizations by engaging the workforce and inspiring collaboration and personal ownership.
Dr. Heinert is Board Certified in General Pediatrics and Pediatric Emergency Medicine and completed her medical studies and training at Wayne State University School of Medicine and The Children’s Hospital of Michigan / Detroit Medical Center. She earned an executive MBA from California State University Sacramento.
Dr. Heinert currently serves as Medical Director for Central California Alliance for Health and provides private consulting in executive and organizational health.

XIANGYI MENG, PHD

Dr. Xiangyi Meng taught at top research universities including the University of California at Berkeley and the Central University of Finance and Economics in Beijing, China. He received his B.A. in economics from Peking University and earned his M.A. and Ph.D. from UC Berkeley. Dr. Meng's research focuses primarily on applied econometrics and household finance and insurance. He served as a Principal Investigator for many funded research projects and his research was published in leading scholarly journals in the field. One of his current research projects is to apply machine learning methods to the identification of alternative signals predictive of borrowers’ repayment behaviors. He has also provided consulting services to the World Bank, International Finance Corporation, World Health Organization, Asian Development Bank and China’s financial regulatory agencies.

Franchise Tax Board of California.
Selvi Stanislaus was appointed the Executive Officer of the Franchise Tax Board of California, (FTB) on January 11, 2006.
As FTB’s fourth Executive Officer and the first woman to hold this position, Selvi oversees the second-largest tax department in the nation, with more than 6,000 employees in California and its three out-of-state offices in New York, Chicago and Houston.
Under Selvi’s Leadership, the FTB has:
• Increased development of a positive workplace culture that has made FTB a destination employer.
• Successful launch of the Enterprise Data to Revenue (EDR) Project. The project’s one-time costs were approximately $522 million with over $5.1 billion in revenue collected by the FTB for the State of California.

YANG SUN, Ph.D.
Professor and Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Assessment
Dr. Yang Sun joined CNU’s College of Graduate Studies in 2020 as Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and a Professor for the MHA program. Prior to joining CNU, he was a Professor of Decision Sciences and Supply Chain Management in the College of Business at California State University, Sacramento. From 2015 to 2020, he served as the Director for Sacramento State’s signature EMBA program, which graduated numerous executives and senior managers for the Sacramento region and was selected by IvyExec as one of the top global EMBA programs in 2019. At Sacramento State, he was a three-time recipient of the Outstanding Faculty Award in three categories: Outstanding Teaching, Outstanding Scholarly Activity, and Outstanding Community Service.
Dr. Sun also serves as the Designated School Official (DSO) for CNU's international students.
Dr. Sun received a Bachelor of Engineering degree from Tsinghua University in Beijing, China, and his MS and Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from Arizona State University with focuses on operations research, supply chain integration, and industrial statistics. Prior to his graduate studies, he was with Neusoft Corporation as an engineering manager and precursor of SaaS. As a certified Six Sigma Black Belt, he has also provided lean, six sigma, data analytics, and management consulting services to many organizations. Since 2009, he coauthored a series of economic forecasting studies published in Sacramento Business Review that cover Sacramento's regional economy, labor markets, and the healthcare sector.
Dr. Sun teaches in the areas of Data Analytics, Decision Sciences, Mathematical and Computer Modeling, Operations Management, Value Chain Integration, and Global Supply Chain Management at undergraduate, graduate, and executive levels, and worked on many collaborative research projects in cross-disciplinary fields of global supply network collaboration, capacity allocation, inventory and revenue sharing, joint inventory and pricing decision, production and service scheduling, semiconductor manufacturing, international business, fundamental and technical analysis for financial markets, forensic accounting, healthcare delivery, etc. He published numerous peer-reviewed articles in research conference proceedings and scholarly journals such as Winter Simulation Conference, MISTA, ISERC, IEEE-CASE, Naval Research Logistics, European Journal of Operational Research, International Journal of Operations Research, Computers and Industrial Engineering, California Journal of Operations Management, Journal of Supply Chain and Operations Management, International Journal of Management, Production Planning and Control, Control and Decision, International Journal of Healthcare Technology and Management, etc., chaired a number of international research conferences, served on editorial boards for several scholarly journals, and is currently the editor-in-chief for the Journal of Supply Chain and Operations Management. He also served on the Board of Advisors for the CSUS Center for Teaching and Learning, on the Board of Directors for the Alta California Regional Center serving people of all ages with developmental disabilities, and as a Board Director and Past President for CSUPOM. He is a member of INFORMS, DSI, POMS, IISE Society for Health Systems, as well as Omega Rho and Alpha Pi Mu honor societies.
